Having trouble writing papers? The Writing Center is here to help.
Located in Rm. 104 of the Humanities building, the Writing Center is committed to helping students with one-on-one assistance for any writing assignment.
The Center is staffed by adjunct professors with experience in all levels of writing. Instructors will not edit your essay, but can offer advice to help improve your writing style.
Students can use the services for no cost or referral from their professor and can expect a quiet environment and a comfortable place to work.
Last semester 1,500 students received writing assistance.
Center instructors can guide students through basic grammar and punctuation instruction with great software tutorials. These tutorials encompass all levels of the writing process and help students improve troubled areas. Also available is a pre-test and post-test to view how much students have improved through using the Center.
The Writing Center is available online through the RSC website, on the Student Services tab. Here students can ask questions or send an attached copy of their essay to the instructors for review.
The Writing Lab is open Monday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and closed on Friday’s and during finals week. For additional information please contact Sandra Keneda at 733-7384 or 736-0216.
