RSC students were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Tom Steed Community Learning Center for their exceptional academic achievements.
Guest speaker Omar Vazquez, president of the Oklahoma/Arkansas region of Phi Theta Kappa, congratulated the inductees and gave them advice.
“Let passion be the answer to conquering the unknown,” he said.
Professor Suzanne Thomas, co-adviser of Alpha Eta Alpha, the Phi Theta Kappa chapter of RSC, presented the closing remarks of the ceremony.
She urged the students to “be the change you want to see in this world.”

A reception with cake and refreshments followed the ceremony.
The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society was established in 1910 and serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming, according to ptk.org.
